About

Pole Power Fitness was founded by me - Charlotte Adams, back in 2013. After moving to Phoenix from the UK, I wanted to share my passion for pole with anyone and everyone who was willing to try. So, I took my poles and set them up in a gym or two and taught a couple of classes a week. Fast-forward to the summer of 2016 and I was able to open up my very own pole studio, which I am excited to share with you all.

My goal is to make fitness fun for everyone regardless of your shape or size and that is what I love about pole fitness. Pole fitness really is for everyone, especially if you like that feeling of flying around with the wind rushing through your hair! Pole fitness is about having fun and feeling good about yourself! Toned abs, biceps and the ability to carry a weeks worth of food shopping from the car to the house in one trip is just an added bonus!

Charlotte's Pole Journey

I came to discover pole dancing/pole fitness in 2010 when in training for a trek up Mount Kilimanjaro in aid of the Alzheimer's Society UK. A friend and I decided that a pole class would be a good giggle and a nice supplement to my training besides walking. We booked our first class and off we went.... We were both quite nervous as we had no previous dance or gymnastics experience, nor did we have any idea what to expect. When we arrived at the pole studio we erupted into nervous laughter. The hour long class came and went in a blink of an eye and I thoroughly enjoyed laughing at my friend, and at myself, as we helplessly slid up and down the pole with about as much grace as a tap-dancing rhino. I enjoyed our ridiculous attempts at trying to be graceful-meets-sexy, but pole was not for me. It wasn't long (a week) before my friend twisted my weak arms and I was at my next pole class. My second attempt at pole was somewhat better than the first and my body recognized what we were doing, so it was a little more compliant with my movement requests. And then like magic I landed my first pole trick (for anyone who is wondering it was an "attitude spin") and just like that I was hooked! A few weeks later I bought my own pole and set it up in my attic. I would spend countless hours practicing everything I had learned in class and it wasn't long before my instructor asked me to teach beginner classes a couple of times a week. This is where I found my love for pole and for teaching.

Since my first pole class I have continued my pole and fitness education and have obtained a Personal Trainer Certification, am a Certified XPERT Pole & Aerial Fitness Trainer Levels 1-4. Furthermore, I compete, perform and teach workshops around the world.

EriN - INSTRUCTOR

Erin's Pole Journey

I am a native Phoenician who grew up dancing competitively and in venues around the Valley and the US. In high school, we'd go to Rocky Point and on the dance floor at Manny's, I found a love of the pole (but maybe it was a support beam?). When I turned 18, my friends took me to a strip club and I fell in love with the dancers' fluid movement, audience engagement, and tricks - one even did a "death lay"!

Fast forward to 2007 and living in DC: I was taking aerial silks, but missed performing and dancing to fun music. I found a newly opened pole studio with a performance troupe, and when my hand touched the pole, it was love at first spin! Since then, I've performed in dozens of pole shows, learned from renowned dancers, and instructed newbies to experienced polers. Pole has something for everyone - strength, power, flexibility, musicality, sensuality, comedy, and most of all: community. My goal is to help you find your innate pole persona, gain new skills, and have fun while doing it!
